FAQs
How do I hire you as my lawyer?
The best approach is to call Harry Boadwee at (408) 253-6100 to discuss your situation. You may also send him an email. If you email, please do not send any confidential or sensitive information.
However, before accepting a new client, we generally need to know the names of any potentially adverse parties (e.g., persons or companies that you are negotiating with). The Boadwee Law Office must first complete a conflicts of interest check to verify that we do not represent those persons or companies. If we are able to represent you and accept you as a client, you will need to enter into a written engagement agreement with us.
NO USE OF THIS WEB SITE, OR EMAIL OR ANY UNSOLICITED SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION TO THE BOADWEE LAW OFFICE, WILL CREATE AN ATTORNEY-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP WITH THE BOADWEE LAW OFFICE. See the other Terms of Use.
What do you charge?
We typically charge an hourly rate, plus expenses (such as document shipping and governmental filing fees). Also, we offer certain services on a flat fee basis.
How do I contact you? What’s your address?
Please see Contact Us.
What are the driving directions to your office?
Please see Contact Us. These directions are easier to use than the directions from automated mapping services such as MapQuest.
Do you support international businesses?
Yes. We have worked on transactions in Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. Feel free to Contact Us.
What is attorney-client privilege, and why should I care about it?
Written and spoken confidential communications between a client and an attorney for the purpose of obtaining legal advice can be “attorney-client privileged” and obtain special protections against disclosure in legal proceedings. However, you must be a client of the firm to have this protection with respect to communications to and from us.
Can you file my patent application?
No, unfortunately. We are not registered patent attorneys and do not prosecute patent applications.
Do you have a blog?
Yes. Please visit our blog, AS-IS: Ecommerce, Internet, Software & Technology Law and Contracts.
Do you provide other information for startups, small businesses and entrepreneurs?
